re: "Drug Cartels Have No Fear Of CBP"

The blogger-formerly-known-as-Federal-Agent-86 at Federale ("That Is The Sound Of Inevitability") examined a vulnerability in our border security.

Money quote(s):

"A top Mexican drug cartel leader was recently busted by the Port Isabel Police Department, a small town, population 5,000, agency on the Texas gulf coast near the party town of South Padre Island.

Rafael Vela, who is also the nephew of a former cartel leader, apparently entered the United States by the simple expedient of using someone else's passport."

That happens.

What should also happen is that if the passport holder has a current U.S. visa, there should be a biometric record (photographic and fingerprint) on electronic file from the time of their visa interview.

"CBP uses US VISIT, the biometric system for aliens who apply for visas, apply to enter the United States and who are arrested by DHS. Except that CBP, because of pressure from the Mexican government, illegal alien advocates, border merchants,Texas politicians, and drug cartels, does not use US VISIT at land Ports-of-Entry, e.g. land border entries. If US VISIT had been in use at the port where Vela entered, he would not have been arrested by an overworked small town police department, but by CBP itself. But CBP is not interested in doing its job of stopping drug dealers and terrorists, it is more interested in fostering cross-border commerce and enabling the Regime's Administrative Amnesty"

US VISIT works. But you have to actually be using it for it to work.

re: "The Cost Of An Immigration Crackdown"

Federal Agent 86 at Federale (" That Is The Sound Of Inevitability ") relayed good news from Alabama.

Money quote(s):

"Lower unemployment rates. The Alabama crackdown on illegal aliens is opening up jobs for Americans."

Reading between the lines, CAA is going to assume that illegal aliens weren't included in the previous unemployment statistics, otherwise this would be a wash.

"Unemployment is going down as Americans replace illegal aliens."

&

"(A)ny lost revenue from illegal aliens is immediately replaced by Americans leaving welfare and unemployment for work. And Americans are more likely to report all income for taxation than are illegals, who mostly work for cash and pay few taxes. The left is desperate. Crackdowns work."

re: "Department Of State Sponsoring Visa Fraud"

Federale ("That Is The Sound Of Inevitability") maintained a certain point of view.

Money quote(s):

"The Department of State (DOS) continues its campaign to undermine and unconstitutionally violate the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA). Hillary Clinton authorized the DOS to be the sponsor for non-immigrant visas in the J-1 category for the non-resident aliens who are having sex with a DOS employee.

The J-1 visa is not for people having sex with a DOS employee, but for cultural and education exchange. At no point was its purpose to aid government employees to engage in sex outside of marriage."

Sec. Clinton has been pretty forward-leaning on the issues related to gay marriage.

What Federale is talking about is using the J-1 non-immigrant visa category for non-U.S. citizen same-sex partners of American diplomats, so that they may accompany their diplomat spouses when they receive domestic assignments in the U.S.

Not every U.S. diplomat has a same-sex partner. Many have spouses whose marriages are recognized in every state in the union.

"Nor was it designed to avoid obtaining an immigrant visa as the pretend spouse of an American citizen. Remember it was created by a Congress of white, heterosexual, males who never contemplation its use as a substitute for homosexual marriage."

Since most FSOs will not spend more than five years (at most) at a stretch in the U.S. (it's the foreign service, after all), it's not really an immigrant visa.

This move is something of a stop-gap measure, getting a little bit ahead of the legislation (or judicial activism) on the matter.

There's also something of a reciprocity issue at play here, since other countries will allow unmarried domestic partners, including same-sex spouses, to accompany our (and their) diplomats.

re: "Islam Is Islam, And That Is That"

Federale ("That Is The Sound Of Inevitability") remarked on willful blindness and those who promote it.

Money quote(s):

"Words of wisdom from Prime Minister Recep Erdogan of Turkey. Spencer Ackerman and Joe Lieberman seem to disagree. They think there are peaceful manifestations of Islam. Well, there are Muslims who don't practice their religion to varying degrees, but Islam is Islam; vile, warlike, dangerous, hateful, and bigoted against whites, Christians and Western Civilization.

However there has been much ado about recent FBI training that exposes Islam for what it is, Islam. The Danger Blog in particular is waging jihad against some who agree with Islamic scholars and political leaders like Erdogan who accept Islam for what it is; A warlike religion opposed to Christendom. And doing so violently.

Unlike DHS which views the threat to America as coming from white, Christian, heterosexual, gun owning veterans, the FBI has been ignoring PC and providing accurate information about Islam to its agents. That, of course, is unacceptable to the left, as Islam is a religion of peace."

Good for the FBI. You've got to get fairly well into the IC before you'll find folks (analysts and others) who'll call a spade a spade, there being since 9/11 the declaration from the White House on down that "Islam is a religion of peace."

Frankly, CAIR needs to be thought of as being the post-9/11 equivalent of the old German American Bund.

"(T)he FBI does not use Mafia attorneys to vet its organized crime training either. And wisely so, because just as so-called Italian-American groups denied the existence of the Mafia, and communist front groups denied that there was Soviet subversion in the U.S., Islamists deny that there is any radicalization problem among American Muslims, but Major Nidal Hassan, the Times Square Bomber, Najibullah Zazi, and the Arkansas Recruiter Shooter are just a few of the local Muslims that became radicalized by becoming more devout. The FBI training is not as Ackerman claims playing into the hand of Al Queda, but accurately describing the process of radicalization and its connection to the very nature of Islam. The more Muslim a Muslim, the more danger that Muslim presents to America."

CAA recently read a statistic (can't remember where, somewhere online) that at 80 percent of American mosques, visitors can get radical materials and propaganda. This should surprise no one except to note that 20 percent of may not be centers of Islamist radicalization.

re: "Obama Pays Ransom For American Diplomat"

Federale ("Federal Service Guarantees Citizenship") explains why this was not necessarily a good idea.

Money quote(s):

"(S)ubmission to Islamist and Pakistani tribal traditions have superceded international treaties that have been in effect for years. Not to mention the hundreds of years of customary law that granted imunity to diplomats. All this thrown under the bus to promote sharia law and the supremacy of Islam in the world.

This incident could have been easily ended by the U.S. informing the Pakistani government that their holding of Davis was what it was, an act of war. The U.S. could have seized a Pakistani diplomat in retaliation, cut off military and economic aid, stopped issuing immigrant and non-immigrant visas to Pakistanis, canceling all outstanding visas or expelling some or all Pakistani diplomats from the U.S. Anyone of these actions would have forced the Pakistani government to comply with international law"

At this point, I suspect that paying Wergeld was the least bad of the various options available.

re: "Suddenly, States Have Authority Over Aliens"

Federale ("Federal Service Guarantees Citizenship") examines some of the technicalities differentiating consular and diplomatic immunities.

Money quote(s):

"(N)ow that the Punjab State government in Pakistan has arrested an American diplomat and are holding him in violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, the radical left is on the war path, defending the right of a State government to arrest and hold a diplomat.

As is usual with the left, they deceive their readers. They claim that the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 authorizes the arrest"

&

"(D)espite the selective quotations from the Reds, Davis is not a consular officer, but a diplomatic officer, covered by Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, which is quite stricter regarding arresting and holding diplomats as opposed to consular officers. But Counterpunch and their writer Dave Lindorff are either too dumb to know the difference between a diplomatic officer and a consular officer or they know and act to deceive"

Be sure to read the final paragraph: training matters; "Lack of training kills."

re: "Another Stealth Amnesty"

Thanks to Federal Agent 86 at Federale ("Because Policing The Internet Is Not For The Weak Of Heart") for the mention.

Money quote(s):

"The amnesty campaign is in full swing, both an overt effort and now a covert effort on the right to give all illegal aliens in the U.S. status that will eventually lead to citizenship and a Demoncrat majority based on third world immigration."

"(O)nce the illegals are legalized with "registration," what arguement will there to prohibit the illegals from being granted LPR status? None. They will be here, they will be working, they will be paying taxes, they will be on welfare. The illegals will be defacto Legal Permanent Residents. Without any doubt some liberal federal judge will see the obvious and grant LPR status based on some manufactured penumbra of the Constitution."

&

" "registration" is just another RINO inside the beltway stealth amnesty."
