CAA ponders:
As air links between Europe and the U.S. remain suspended due to the ash plume from Iceland's Eyjafjallajkol volcanic eruption, how long before ship lines begin pulling liners from other areas, such as the Caribbean, to take advantage of the reinvigorated demand for transatlantic surface passenger service?

Good thought.
I suspect it depends on the length of the "crisis" and where the money will come from to pay for the service.
As it is, it seems the crisis is mostly past.
Oh, the service would pay its own way. I hear bookings on the QM2 went sky-high, but don't have independent confirmation.
If the money (from paying passengers) is there, the ships will follow.
